Puttin’ My Faith In Love - Graham Gouldman - Love And Work (CD, Album)

This sad lady in the foreground is a gin soaked housewife, wasting away in rich suburbia, whilst her smooth businessman husband works too hard and consequently neglects her.

He is furious at being interrupted at work, again. How dare she! The inner spread for the album is a paranoid nightmare about going to a crowded party and being totally unable to talk to anyone — better to be on the blower than face somebody directly.

I currently write for national magazines in the subjects of business, music, hi-fi and general technology. Notify me of follow-up Puttin’ My Faith In Love - Graham Gouldman - Love And Work (CD by email.

So this particular Gouldman album for me, is a huge return to form. I love the more organic feel, Puttin’ My Faith In Love - Graham Gouldman - Love And Work (CD the more acoustic arrangements, I think it gives the songs a little more personality and a certain presence that, for me, has been lacking on some of the more recent albums.

As I missed this one, please forgive me. The album is stated to be both more in a blues vein and 10cc in style than Do Not Bend. The term was used by Harold Wilson who was Album) Labour Party politician in when he accused the Swiss bankers of pushing the pound down on the foreign exchange markets by speculation. I sincerely hope the Stewart got the production right here, as the last album was a disappointment.

Which was disappointing to me, because I have a lot of time for Stewart, and I sincerely hope this is a better reflection of Eric the songwriter and musician, than the last album. So if anyone is still out there, please give us the lowdown on this album, and we'll hit the first couple of tracks on Monday. Cheers Mark. Location: Red Apple Falls. Ugh, the cover of Viva La Difference is abysmal. Throwing 10cc after his name was a curious touch, probably hoping to sell more copies, but the cd looks like a cheap budget comp one would find at the checkout line of grocery store.

Appreciate the reviews of the Graham album. Will look for that one, and I also want to check out his latest. I have to say from listening to his Instagram rehearsal posts, his voice is sounding very good. Lonesurf and mark winstanley like this. I had already heard some of these tracks on his anthology, but gave the Viva La Difference album a listen via Amazon mp3 last night. I walked around the room with him like that, and it was the coolest, most perfect thing.

I knew, then, that I loved my record. Twitter Follow brendanbensongs integrityshines Thanks Tammy! Brendan Benson Links lojinx. We rock.

Love and Work is the first CD I've found like this for quite a while. Graham Gouldman is a national treasure, except the nation doesn't seem to realise waht we have. McCartney, Jagger, Bowie, Elton John are all feted, but Graham Gouldman goes his own way quietly just getting on with making his music/5(37).

Love and Work. Graham’s first new solo album in 12 years, dedicated to his former Wax partner Andrew Gold, with whom he recorded four albums between and , ‘Love And Work’ is Gouldman’s first solo album since ’s ‘And Another Thing’. ‘Love And Work’ includes the acclaimed single ‘Daylight’, which was written Estimated Reading Time: 6 mins.

  8. Aragor says:

Gouldman dedicates Love and Work to his late friend and Wax partner Andrew Gold and that isn't just a matter of sentiment; the album pares back Gouldman's lingering eccentricities and focuses entirely on his precision popcraft, a skill that's been at the foundation of his music since the Hollies. Here, the vibe is gentle and reflective but never melancholy, the songs are sculpted but never fussy, the Price: $
