But they are thought to have been involved romantically for some years before that. The picture here of Robin and Claire, side-by-side in the lobby of the exclusive five-star Westin Bellevue Hotel in Dresden, is the first photograph to emerge of them as a couple. It was taken by a fan in September when the star was in the middle of a German concert tour.
To the surprise of many, he and Dwina remained married, and Miss Yang moved out to a rented property nearby. In the early weeks he was a regular visitor. Robin explained towards the end of that his having had a mistress and a baby outside the marriage had been irrelevant to his family life with Dwina. Friends of the Gibbs say that this must have been intensely painful for Claire to hear, because she had been desperately in love with her employer for years.
Indeed, according to one friend who spoke on the condition of anonymity, she had actually hoped that Robin would eventually leave Dwina for her. Born in Braintree, Essex, inClaire Yang is the daughter of Dick, a computer systems engineer, and Evelyn, a one-time bank clerk. And although she was a baby herself when the band found fame, she is also, significantly, a big Bee Gees fan.
And from there, of course, it was a dream come true to have a relationship with Robin. Records show that she lived in Miami for a time. The word I would use is obsessively in love.
My view is she probably thought she would run off into the sunset with him, but that was never going to happen. Dwina would never give him up, and they loved each other.
Certainly, bywhen our picture was taken, she was already travelling abroad with her employer, and for some years she continued to join him at corporate engagements or concerts.
Dwina, it appears, was well used to his flings. They had married in and, as a bisexual former Druid priestess, she was far from a conventional person. Robin has had flings with friends of mine and he talks to me about them. Yet this was not just a fling. It would not have gone as far as it did if it was some kind of a casual fling. Robin spent quite a bit of time with her and things developed.
There was a relationship, a full relationship, and I guess that they were happy together. That was the step too far. Dwina, 59, is said to have asked Claire to leave after learning that she was pregnant by her husband. In the early days, Robin paid for the rent on the houses she lived in, and for a nanny and a car, too. In the dark? One of the great showbusiness eccentrics, with his lavender glasses and obvious wigs, Robin was the kind of person who did business on the basis of a handshake, and it seems that this applied to his relationship with Claire Yang, too.
There does not appear to have been any formal support agreement. I think there was a general feeling that once the baby had arrived it was to be the start of a new chapter for everyone, including Claire. I remember in he was in Australia and he got a big toy koala for Snow. For quite a long time he was absolutely seeing the child.

Green on Red Ill Never Let Go - Slim Smith - Born To Love (Cassette) lead the way for the insurgent country of the s, but on his own Prophet has grown far beyond the category.
No Other Love is maverick genre-bending in the manner of Beck and Jim White, and the stylistic variety suits Prophet's compositions, peopled by crazed desperados and beautiful losers. The songs run the gamut from the raunchy horn-driven swagger of "That's How Much I Need Your Love" to the stinging, pleading "Elouise," where his ever-inventive guitar vies with Farfisa organ.
Prophet enjoys spicing songs with pop culture references, but his wry humor is counterbalanced by a strong moral undertow in "I Bow Down and Pray to Every Woman I See" and the beautiful "Summertime Thing. InDusty Springfield was already an international superstar with fifteen hits under her belt for the Philips label when she decided it was time for a change. What followed was one of the most legendary and momentous label moves in pop music history: Dusty decamped to Atlantic Records, where, under the tutelage of Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd, and Arif Mardin, she recorded one of the greatest albums of all time, Dusty in Memphis, and scored such indelible hits as 'Son-of-a Preacher Man' and 'The Windmills of Your Mind' before moving on to Philly soul 'A Brand New Me.
We at Real Gone Music have closely examined this crucial period in Dusty's career over the years, with three previous releases. But there remains one facet of her Atlantic period which has remained largely untouched: her singles.
The Complete Atlantic Singles presents the A and B-sides of all dozen singles she recorded for the label in their original mono single mixes, on vinyl for the first time in over 50 years most of these single mixes weren't even available on compact disc until our recent CD release.
Mastered by Mike Milchner from original tape sources, annotated by Joe Marchese, and featuring copious photos, The Complete Atlantic Singles is an absolute must for any Dusty devotee or any soul fan to boot.

The tracks aren't so much compositions as excursions, with few memorable themes or recurring motifs. It's pure jazz, somewhat Ill Never Let Go - Slim Smith - Born To Love (Cassette) for Rawith little of the aggressiveness and confrontation for which the bandleader was renowned.
Omniverse offers lots of reflective piano in trio, quartet, and sextet settings. Instead of a keyboard showcase, Sun Ra engages in dynamic interplay with the rhythm section. The horns are featured largely as soloists; there are few ensemble passages.

Like mostly everything that comes out of the Tragic Allies camp, LVNDR strikes a great balance between Hip Hop with a 90s-centric feel and a more contemporary boom-bap sound. Tragic Allies colleague Estee Nack makes an appearance, along with the likes of Crucial the Guillotine, Bub Rock, and Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon — helping round out what is one the finest projects of its sort this year.
Together they are responsible for the excellent Angelz and Demonz seriesof which this is the final installment. Dusty boom-bap instrumentals laced with ominous samples, crafted by Hobgoblin — one of the most interesting underground producers active today — and hard-as-nails lyrics from M. That cover art is pretty awesome too.
The Complexity is an album for connoisseurs, tasteful and classy — with beautifully crafted laid-back instrumentals and compelling lyricism from start to finish. Go check out The Complexity now, and come back to thank us later for pointing you in the right direction.
Sankofa is nothing if not consistent — BLKCHP is another presentation of soulful boom-bap, with great sampling choices and mature, relatable lyrics — this time around a bit darker than on his previous releases. Passalacqua is a Detroit indie alt-rap duo consisting of emcees Blaksmith and Mister. Passalacqua LP is the culmination of a ten-year partnership — ten years during which the duo dropped a number of great projects, but arguably none as good as this one.
The genre-boundaries pushing Passalacqua LP is unlike any other Hip Hop album you will come across this year. Not for everybody, but listeners with an appreciation for beautifully crafted left-field Hip Hop will find a keeper in Passalacqua LP. The High Priestess is a superb record. Rita J. Honorary affiliate of the Wu-Tang family Bronze Nazareth is a great producer, and this high-profile Mello Music Group release shows they have chemistry — Season Of The Seven is among the best work both have dropped in a while.
Only legends can make a double-album sound this good. Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely Adolf Side B is not a classic, but it can be counted among the better half of his work. Killer beats and killer features — Side B is Westside Gunn at his best, but it has to be said: most of his releases sound kind of the same, Ill Never Let Go - Slim Smith - Born To Love (Cassette) because of his crazy release schedule we are suffering from Westside Gunn fatigue at this point.
Pharoahe Monch has never been very prolific, with no more than seven albums on his name since his recording debut 30 years ago: Organized KonfusionStress: The Extinction Agendaand The Equinox as part of Organized Konfusion with Prince Po ; and Internal AffairsDesireW. Quality over quantity — all these albums are excellent displays of intelligent, complex, top-tier lyricism. Maybe not. It is possible some listeners will be disappointed, as A Magnificent Day For An Exorcism is almost as much rock music as it is Hip Hop, and pulling off a cohesive rap-rock fusion is not an easy thing to do.
For HHGA, th1rt3en succeeded admirably though. Pharoahe Monch still is one of the best and most versatile lyricists in the game. At 48 he is as sharp as he ever was, and even if his flow and delivery have changed some over the decades his sound still is second to none the few attempts at singing he does on the album can be forgiven.
On A Magnificent Day For An Exorcism, Pharoahe Monch addresses timely topics such as racism, consumerism, police brutality and corruption, and others — his lyrics here are deep and thought-provoking as always. This is an album for the times we live in. A Magnificent Day For An Exorcism is sure to polarize opinions, but everybody who is able to go into it with an open mind will find much to enjoy and admire. K-Rino is one of the most lyrical rappers ever — his classic debut album Stories From The Black Book is a display of superior lyricism, and it signified the start of an incredibly impressive discog.
Kanye West is a fascinating genius and an insufferable idiot in equal measures, and his tenth studio album Donda is the embodiment of his absurdity. All Kanye albums, especially everything he dropped since his masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasyare divisive — and Donda probably will turn out to be the most divisive of them all. Like on all Kanye West albums there are high highs and low lows — but fortunately, on Donda, the highs far outweigh the lows.
Donda could have done with fewer guest vocalists — the 33! Almost, but with his thematic focus, Kanye manages to hold things together in the end. A two-hour album could easily be an exhausting slog, but Donda is not. We are not stans and we are not haters — so we can objectively say that while Donda is not a masterpiece like MBDTF is, it certainly is not trash either. Donda is a typical Kanye West album — a mixed bag, with more positives than negatives this time around.
Funhouse Mirror turned out to be a thoroughly solid listen, with excellent jazzy instrumentals and great bars with a lot of substance and depth. How We Intended is a well-rounded project, consisting of 17 well-sequenced tracks in total. Marlon Craft has a great voice and a dope flow, and his content is relatable with consistent lyrical sharpness, regardless of the topic. How We Intended is one of those rare albums with the potential for widespread appeal — boom-bap traditionalists, as well as people from the pop-rap crowd and everyone in betweencan find plenty to enjoy here without being turned off by influences that may not appeal directly to personal tastes.
This is a serious release, undoubtedly an album that will prove to have staying power. Westside Gunn is the business-brain of the Griselda family unit, and Benny The Butcher the best emcee — but Conway is the most consistent of the three: La Maquina is yet another solid outing from Conway, even if it has some meh trap-flavored tracks on it. Whether you love it or not will most likely depend on your tolerance level for the 4 or 5 commercial-sounding tracks on the album — for us, these songs are must-skips that bring the album a couple of notches, unfortunately.
For the full list with honorable mentions follow this link. Click here or on the image for the full list. TYRON by slowthai is utterly brilliant. Give it a go, got to be at least worth an honourable mention. Came out a couple of weeks ago. Solid album and definitely deserves to be on this list.
It would be nice if you could list the albums chronologically. Makes it easier to follow month to month. There is lots of dope stuff I dont find anywhere else.
Just some constructive criticism which might make it more user friendly. The new Boldy album is not overrated. It is a top 3 album of the year so far. More like top for me, but to each their own. I do agree with Skyzoo being number 1 so far. Your email address will not be published. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
