William D Drake is a musician, pianist, keyboardist, composer and singer-songwriter. A former member of influential cult band Cardiacs, he has gone on to release two albums with Cardiacs off-shoot Sea Nymphs and a further five albums under his own name; "William D Drake', 'Briny Hooves', 'Yew's Paw', 'The Rising of the Lights' and 'Revere Missing: Ubi Sum.

William Derek Drake (born 7 February in Chelmsford) is an English musician, keyboardist, pianist, composer and is best known as a former member of the cult English rock band Cardiacs, whom he played with for nine years between and He has also been a member of The Sea Nymphs, North Sea Radio Orchestra, Nervous, Wood, Lake of Puppies and The Grown-Ups, Missing: Ubi Sum.

Released as a companion piece, and on the same day, as sister album Briny Hooves in February They said we were we thought it showed off, in fine style, 2 of the many sides of Mr Drake’s myriad musical ted Reading Time: 10 mins.

  2. Yew's Paw is a piano solo album by William D. Drake of Cardiacs fame. I wonder how people would have assessed Yew's Paw around , when there was a lot of good and innovative piano music. The compositional vocabulary of Drake extends beyond the romantic period but at least here he stays away from all too experimental and atonal stuff that came up in the 20th g: Ubi Sum.
