I lay down, low leaving all my options open. This seemed to explain the freedom the disc jockeys were given to play absolutely whatever they wanted, as well as those somewhat frequent stretches when a record would skip for about 20 minutes before the DJ would come back from whatever he was doing out in the alley behind the station.
Listening to KISS radio was a window on a whole universe of music that Ehresman had never heard before…. You just never knew what would be played next, but it was almost always good. And Ehresman soaked it up like a sponge. Ehresman moved to Austin in to attend the University of Texas. A life-long admirer of Todd Rundgren and his one-man-band approach, Ehresman slowly but surely amassed the gear for a home studio and taught himself the engineer and producer roles with some crucial help from a couple of friends.
His first solo release, Honor in the Swine? Despite the somewhat primitive nature of his recording gear at the time, the album has a charm derived from its wild, eclectic diversity and its tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.
Mandolin and MIDI guitar made early appearances on this first release, along with and-6 string guitars, electronic percussion pads, and keyboards. Rapidly expanding as a multi-instrumentalist, Ehresman would come to use not only various acoustic and electric guitars and fretted and fretless basses on his solo albums, but also keyboards, electronic and acoustic percussion, mandolin, 6-string banjo, saz, acoustic and electric All Rise (Acoustic) - Blue (5) - All Rise (CD, acoustic and electric oud, theremin, mandocello, electric mandola, Persian setar, Uzbeki rawap, electric sitar, and other obscure world music instruments.
The sound of the early solo recordings showed a wide palette of influences, although Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd are particularly evident influences in those early days. The following year saw the release of the spoken word EP cassette The Rants, which contained two long tracks that would see subsequent release as bonus tracks on 's full-length Handwedge From the Trap.
That latter album got its title from an infamous method of Album) at golf, and features another wonderful cover from Casey Shaw. This version of the band had a bit of a split personality. In the studio, the songs took on a life of their own, with no thought given to being able to reproduce them live. Ehresman played most of the instruments, and shared vocal duties with Ramirez. Live, the duo did more acoustic renditions of the Snipe Hunt catalogue, as well as songs from Ehresman's growing solo discography.
All during these years, Ehresman continued to record and release solo albums, with the quality of the playing, songwriting and recording improving steadily as a sign of his restless creativity and desire for producing music that would stand the test of time. Snipe Hunt broke up in when Ehresman temporarily moved to San Francisco with intentions to marry a girl he'd met at Burning Man the year before.
Things didn't work out and, tail between his legs, Ehresman moved back to Austin in The time away had not been a total loss, however, because most of the tracks for the solo album No Unifying Theme were recorded on the West Coast, with the CD being released in Focusing for a time on his solo work, Ehresman performed solo at local art exhibits, The Maker Faire, coffee houses, down by the docks as Bill Hicks would sayetc Although a musical deviation for Ehresman, his ability to peel out heavy rock guitar licks and walls of sound made the pairing work, and the band gigged around Austin and went on a brief, chaotic tour of the American West in February of avoiding Album) on three separate occasions, but just barely Soon after, Ehresman was contacted by Vic Ramirez, from the Snipe Hunt days, who had a new rhythm section and was looking to start an uptempo rock and roll band.
Feeling somewhat frustrated with not being able to perform his own songs, Ehresman left Los Platos in the Spring of and joined Ramirez in a new group that worked under the name Delphi Rising. Ehresman suggested the name to reflect the fact that the US was the only country in the Western world where reason was on the decline and superstition belief in angels, disbelieve in evolution, rise of fundamentalist christianity, etc.
The album has a diverse, driving sound: from punk-influenced hit-and-runs to hard rock guitar workouts; from British-sounding pop circa to a Steely Dan-ish piano and horn song about love in a post-apocalyptic globally-warmed world; from blues to a Dylanesque western ballad.
All four band member contribute songwriting and vocals. Ehresman played lead guitar and keyboard and bass on two songs. The band eventually broke up due to bass player problems a perpetual situation in a town like Austin with a chronic shortage of bass players.
The songwriting and production continued to progress to new levels of sophistication, while the music continued to explore new genres and combinations of styles.Broken Hearted Melody - Sarah Vaughan - Collection (Vinyl, LP), Slumming On Park Avenue - The George Mitchell Minstrels - Sing 54 Irving Berlin Songs (Vinyl, LP), Charles Like The Prince - Cent Bleus (CD), Amor, Amor - José José - Gavilán O Paloma (Musica Original De La Pelicula) (Vinyl, Album, LP), Dark Like Night - Led To Sea - Led To Sea (CD, Album), Belladonna - Andreas Vollenweider - Caverna Magica (...Under The Tree - In The Cave...) We are therefore left with only one full-length studio recording from the LP band to stand as a testament to their short career: Can't Stand the Rezillosa track blitz of manic energy and sharp vocals, peppered with their own unique blend of kitsch.
The album starts out Glad All Over - The Rezillos - Cant Stand The Rezillos (Vinyl a three-song run that showcases the band's strengths and flows from track to track seamlessly, pulling the listener in with grit, hooks and a level of musicianship that most wouldn't expect from an initial release.
While the track's lyrical content is candy at best, the highlight of the song is the combination of the two voices at the back end of the choruses, an amazing blend of Faye's high-pitched feminine with Eugene's male snarl, made all the more potent by their thick Scottish accents.
The bass playing of William Mysterious dominates the second track "No," his bass style owing as much to his '50s rock predecessors as it lends itself to emulation by many of his modern punk descendants, and firmly carries the band throughout the rest of the album. The third track, and the most well-known to many American listeners, is a cover of the Fleetwood Mac B-side "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked in Tonight," a crowd-pleasing sing-along that has been covered by many punks throughout the years, but never quite with the same snarl as the Rezillos.

Each of them had participated in many of jazz's great moments and all shared the ability, documented on many albums, to inspire their fellow musicians to even greater heights.

You truly are a godsend for those of us who hunger for music on the outer fringes. Thank you. Fast shipment! Any small business that specializes in supporting artists and labels who's music fall far from the category of "commercial" is automatically commendable. The CD arrived two days after I ordered it, and it was in flawless condition.
Perfect buying experience. Such a fun album. I'm always worried when buying through discogs or private sellers on Amazon, but folks like you who know how to properly package and ship the vinyl are, unfortunately, pretty damn hard to come by. Squidco's service is always excellent in my experience. Squidco is a stellar example of what makes working with small businesses so much more of a rewarding experience than working with megacorporate behemoths like Amazon.
The discs played flawlessly. I would order from Squidco again. My enjoyment of the music is exceeded only by my gratitude for your help in delivering this to my door.
Many thanks"-G. The order arrived well protected and much faster than the arrival date given. It is always a joy to actually find dealers who know how to mail music, be it CDs or LPs. And it is especially thrilling in this day of dubious descriptions to find a dealer who actually describes the state the item is actually in!
Bravo to Squidco! Answered my question right away so I bought the album. It was delivered very quickly. I would highly recommend them and will eventually buy from them again since they have the odd stuff I'm looking for. CD is pristine and played wonderfully without any problems. A Top Notch Dealer I will be very happy to purchase from in Satisfied - Various - Soul Togetherness 2007 (Vinyl future You folks have been nothing but great, and I'll certainly be ordering from you again really soon.

Seller knows how to pack a record well to boot! Thanks for helping pry open my third eye just bit further, Squidco!!!
The performers you cover enables a clear view regarding the current ethos as well as its history. I'm sure I'm not alone in bearing a deep appreciation for this and the integrity it embraces.! And thank you for your great customer service.! VERY happy with cd, it's condition, packaging, and shipping speed!
Disc arrived fine as usual. Until next time! This literally went cross-country to me in one weekend-and I didn't even buy the two-day shipping option! It arrived in perfect condition. Thanks for stocking such great and hard to find music. Great prices, reasonable shipping costs and quick shipping. And they truly only list what they have in stock. Fast shipping and extremely well packed. Even a personal thank you from Kevin. Great work folks and the very best to all. Great selection of hard to find music.

The first and second volumes were released in both the UK and Australia, but the series divided in Augustwith one series for the UK and the other for Australia.

Eu cantava em tudo o que era lugar. Ele me adorava. Provocando ele! Mas ele amou, me adorou, e LP Me botou no programa dele.
BC: Ah! Essa barbada! Eu tinha 5 anos…. Colombo, Picolino e Noca! Isso em 66! Essa era a minha parte. Aquilo baixou em mim, sabe? Depois ficou comum, sabe? Era totalmente diferente! Vieram os festivais… Eu cantei, em 66, um samba urbano, tipo Chico Buarque… Ah!
BC: Quando surgiu o Chico Buarque eu me apaixonei de verde, amarelo, azul e branco!

E eu amava.
Eu adorava ele e ele me adorava. BC: A maior prova de amor dele! BC: Eu tenho ele cantando, aqui! EG: Olha, Beth, deixa eu contar uma coisa. Pesquisadora mesmo! BC: Claro! A que mais gravou! Eu gostei? Vou gravar. BC: Ah, na volta dele. Pouco tempo depois.

E fiquei me divertindo um ano! Com muito suingue. E com muita negritude! BC: Exatamente! Eu tinha certeza absoluta! A gente, antes de gravar pra LP, fazia o bate-bola. Totalmente entregue! BC: Puxa… muito obrigada… Eu recebo muito isso dos compositores, sabe? Diferente detemos meu filho Pedro que divide os vocais comigo desdepondera Fauzi. There are actually some neo psychedelic rock bands who try to hold up Krautrock, and who notably find a major place to express themselves during the historical Burg Herzberg Festival in Germany. Neo-Progressive rock more commonly "Neo-Prog" is a subgenre of Progressive Rock that originally was used to describe artists strongly influenced by the classic symphonic prog bands that flourished during the s. At the beginning of the neo-prog movement, the primary influence was early to mid's Genesis.
Debate over when Neo-Prog actually came into being often takes place, with some asserting it began with Marillion's Script for a Jester's Tear in Others contend it began with Twelfth Night at the dawn of the 80s, while some even suggest the popular symphonic prog band Genesis gave rise to Neo-Prog with their album, A Trick of the Tail.
This new form of progressive rock originated in the UK, and is most strongly associated with bands such as Marillion, Pendragon and IQ; and while theatrical stage antics were a part of the live performances of many artists exploring this subset of the progressive rock genre it's the musical elements that are key to the genre; typified by the use of atmospheric guitar and synth soloing with symphonic leanings, with a tendency towards floating synth layers and dreamy soloing.
An additional trait is the use of modern synths rather than vintage analogue synths and keyboards. The main reasons for Neo-Progressive artists to be separated from the ones exploring Symphonic Prog in the first place are the above, as well as a heavier emphasis on song-form and melody than some of their earlier symphonic counterparts.
As time went by other artists appeared that also deviated from the norms created by the classic wave of progressive rock artists in the 70's. The late 70's had given the world punk music; the 80's gave the world new wave; and the 90's grunge. These, as well as other forms, had a tremendous amount of influence outside of the progressive rock realm.
The advent of the modern synth also inspired artists like Tomita, Vangelis and Kitaro to explore dreamier musical works. These and other forms of more or less newly made musical genres influenced artists exploring progressive rock as well. Although many artists did so within the framework of 70's progressive rock, more and more artists developed a sound and style so heavily influenced by these more recent musical developments that categorizing them within the existing subgenres of progressive rock became increasingly difficult.
While the Neo-Progressive genre initially consisted of artists exploring a modernized version of Symphonic Prog, these days artists coined as Neo-Progressive cover a multitude of musical expressions, where the common denominator is the inclusion - within a progressive rock framework - of musical elements developed just prior to and after The Neo-Progressive genre in it's refined form thus covers a vast musical territory, to some extent covering all existing subsets of progressive rock and also searching out towards genres as different as new age on one side and punk and metal on the other.
POST-ROCK : The term post-rock was coined by Simon Reynolds in issue of The Wire May to describe a sort of music "using rock instrumentation for non-rock purposes, using guitars as facilitators of timbres and textures rather than riffs and powerchords.
Bands from the early s such as Slint, or earlier, such as Talk Talk were influential on this genre. As with many musical genres, the term is arguably inadequate: it is used for the music of Tortoise as well as that of Mogwai, two bands who have very little in common besides the fact that their music is largely instrumental. The aforementioned Tortoise was among the founders of the movement.
After Millions In the late nineties, Chicago, Illinois, became the home base of many different groups. Post-rock began to range from the slow, guitar-based ambience of Boxhead Ensemble to the up-tempo electronica of Stereolab. Black Emperor' - brought a political element with anti-globalization movement leanings. By the early s, the term had started to fall out of favor, while the major artists kept on making high quality recordings.
The wide range of styles covered by the term had robbed it of its usefulness almost from the moment it was coined. Closely related to post-rock is the genre known as Math rock, characterized by more percussive timbres, and more dissonant harmonic gestures.
It uses material from the Wikipedia article "Post-rock". The music is characterized by complex structures, angular melodies and constant abrupt changes in tempo and time signature. The name Math Rock is a term that grew out of the Chicago scene and the artists working with engineer Steve Albini in an effort to So Misunderstood - Various - Les Adventures (Continued) (CD) the new style.
The basic building blocks of Math Rock can be traced back to the late 60's and 70's where Progressive Rock artists were making more elaborate compositions than the standard rock bands and were experimenting with song structures. Early Avant-garde groups like Massacre, and artists such as Captain Beefheart and John Zorn were highly influential to Math Rock bands and traces of their music can still be heard throughout the genre. Another big influence to the Math Rock approach was Slint with their album "Spiderland" which showcased many techniques that Math Rock bands will follow in the future.
Punk also had significant impact on the sound of Math Rock bands. Although there are Math Rock bands in different countries around the world, most reside in the United States, the Midwest in particular, and tend to be divided by regions: Pittsburgh bands Don Caballero, Six Horse Chicago bands Shellac, U. In the wake of the s, a Folk revival started on both sides of the Atlantic, and got quickly linked with a protest movement, not always, but often linked to more left-wing tendencies, which did not sit well with the authorities.
As DYLAN turned electric with his Highway 61 Revisited album, much to the dislike of purists who yelled for treason, Folk Rock was born, opening the floodgates for younger artists to turn on the electricity. By this time, most connoisseur were talking of Acid Folk, Psych Folk, and Progressive Folk, all having limited differences and So Misunderstood - Various - Les Adventures (Continued) (CD) particularly drawn-out limits or boundaries, but all relying on experimental or groundbreaking adventures and good musicianship but not necessarily of an acoustic nature.
Byall of the glorious precursors bands were selling fewer records and had problems renewing themselves and a newer generation of groups was relying in a more Celtic jigs or really traditional sounds. Ian Anderson another Scots was very keen in acoustical traditional songs. There is also a very important medieval music influences dimension in some groups as the term Medieval Folk was also mentioned for a while but apparently dropped by musicologists.
No musical genre exists in a vacuum. Not all of the bands that have been a part of the history and development of progressive rock are necessarily progressive rock bands themselves.
This is why progarchives has included a genre called prog-related, so we could include all the bands that complete the history of progressive rock, whether or not they were considered full-fledged progressive rock bands themselves. There are many criteria that the prog-related evaluation team considers when deciding which bands are considered prog-related. Very few bands will meet all of this criteria, but this list will give an idea as to some of the things that help evaluate whether an artists is prog-related or not.
Although both of these artists created rock music in a dizzying array of genres, both contributed to the ongoing history of progressive rock several times within the span of their careers. It may surprise some people that as late as the mids the US had very few original progressive rock bands that did not sound like exact copies of British bands. Journey was one of the first US bands to present a uniquely American brand of prog-rock before they eventually became a mainstream rock band.
We have collaborators from all over the world who tell us which bands helped the progressive rock scene develop in their corner of the globe, even if those bands were like Journey and were known more for being mainstream rock bands. In the late 70s and early 80s prog-rock was barely a blip on the radar. During this time artists such as David Bowie and Metallica released albums that captured key elements of the spirit of prog rock and did so while contributing their own original modern elements to the mix.
Although Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Wishbone Ash may seem like mere hard rock bands, in their time they stood apart from other hard rockers with their more serious lyrical content and more developed compositions.
Put simply, in the early 70s every prog-rock record collector usually had full collections of all three of these artists. These three bands were very much part of the prog-rock scene without being total prog-rock bands them selves.
Once again, as we enter the second decade of the 21st century a melting pot of prog-metal, math-rock, progressive electronics and post-rock influences have once again made a progressive tendency in rock music almost more a norm than a difference. Yet in other periods of musical history receiving influence from progressive rock could So Misunderstood - Various - Les Adventures (Continued) (CD) set a band apart and make them worthy of our prog-related category.
Being influenced by progressive rock is hardly the only factor we look at, and in some periods of musical history it is almost meaningless, but still, it is almost a given that most of the artists listed in prog-related were influenced by the development of progressive rock. Sometimes you just have to use some common sense and look at the big picture. A very good way to describe prog-related would be to imagine an exhaustive book that covered the history of progressive rock.
Probably so. Born in the late 60's after the expansion of avant-gardist, modern, post-modern and minimalist experimentation, the progressive electronic movement immediately guides us into a musical adventure around technologies and new possibilities for composition. As an author or a searcher, the musician often creates his own modules and electronic combinations, deciding his own artistic and musical action. The visionary works of Stockhausen, Subotnick, John Cage "concrete" music, electro-acoustic experimentationLa Monte Young, Steve Reich, Terry Riley minimal, micro-tonal music express a vision of total reconstruction in the current musical world.
Luminous works such as "A Rainbow in Curved Air" and "Silver Apples of the Moon" bring an inflexion on opened forms and new ways to explore the essence and the physical aspects of sounds through time and space.
A great improvement happened in with the appearance of the first modular synthesiser Moog. This material or "invention" brings the answer to the technological aspirations of many musicians, mainly after the release of the popular "Switched on Bach" Walter Carlos and Mother Mallard's portable masterpiece pieces composed between At the beginning of popular essays in electronica, the pioneering technologies in term of recording and sound transmission will not be abandoned.
After several innovations always from Germany we notice the dark, doomy atmospheric manifests of Nekropolis Peter Frohmader in "Le culte des Goules"Asmus Tietchens in his colourful and engaged "Biotop" and the semi-ambient "Hermeneutic Music" by Lars Troschen sound sculptor and synthesist.
In France, the "hypnotic" and "propulsive" electronic essays of Heldon "Electronic Guerrilla" and Lard Free "Spiral Malax" introduce an inclination for industrial, urban and post-modern sound projections. The French "avant gardist" Philippe Besombes takes back the inspiration of " concrete music" Pierre Henry. During the 80's, Maurizio Bianchi will be in search of the absolute industrial "post-nuclear" sound tapestry.
His visionary musical experience is based on cyclical loops, abrasive concrete noises and vertiginous piano dreamscapes. B Iehn Tale" Before M. B and the industrial-bruitist wave, the 70's Italian specialists of electronic experiments had been among others Francesco Cabiati Mirage,Francesco Bucherri Journey, and Francesco Messina for representative, lyrical and spacey orchestrations and also Futuro Antica D'ai primitivi all'elettronica, or Telaio Magnetico Live' 75 for tripped out minimalism.
The music offers a dynamic combination between ancient-traditional music of the West and synthesised sonic soundscapes. Their music embodies timbral drone sequences, systematic arpeggiations and synth-pop textures.
Young contemporary bands and artists in electronic experimentation took their inspiration from the 70's "kosmische" analog synth psychedelica of Klaus Schulze, Conrad Schnitzler, Tangerine Dream, etc.
To sum up things, the progressive electronic subgenre is dedicated to intricate, moving, cerebral, intrusive electronic experiences that get involved in "kosmische", dark ambient, post industrial, droning, surreal or impressionist soundscapes territories. This category represents the core movement of what is called "Progressive Metal" in the literal sense. It is a subgenre of progressive rock as much as it is a subgenre of heavy metal, and this is how its sound is defined: a blend of heavy, guitar-oriented metal music enriched with compositional innovation and complex arrangements, usually expressed through diverse instrumentation and often but not always with odd-time signatures.
Common, but not essential to define the movement, are the frequent use of keyboards, high-pitched vocals, concept lyrical themes and tracks of longer duration. The Origins: The heavy sound of some of the progressive rock bands of the 70's has been one of the building blocks on which progressive metal was raised.
The former were essentially playing progressive metal as ASLAN in the mid's and developed a highly eclectic sound in the 90's. The latter's debut classifies them among the European prog-thrash pioneers but their music evolved to more melodic patterns and heavily influenced by RUSH in the early 90's. Progressive metal is difficult to further divide in sub-genres but a number of tendencies or movements have been critical to the evolvement of its sound.
Traditional Progressive Metal The style developed by the pioneers was fully established in the s and includes a range of bands from the two sides of the Atlantic. Among the well-known representatives of what is called American Power Metal e. Power-Progressive Metal European style This category includes a broad range of bands that could sound So Misunderstood - Various - Les Adventures (Continued) (CD) dissimilar to each other but their music is significantly influenced by the European Power Metal primarily German bands of the 80's e.

The variable valve lift system only changed the lift of one of the intake valves for each cylinder since the other intake valve always provided high lift. The operation of the variable valve lift system may be summarised as follows: At engine speeds below rpm, valve lift for one of the intake valves was reduced to increase intake air speed and to create a swirl effect within the combustion chamber since the lift of the two intake valves differed.
As a result of the faster intake air speed and better mixture formation, a higher torque output was achieved; At engine speeds between rpm and with high loads, valve lift for the variable intake valve would be increased to reduce intake resistance for greater power; and, At engine speeds above rpm, high valve lift Peace (Remix By Dimitri) - Various - October 91 - Three (Vinyl) be provided regardless of load. US critics point to [Eminem's] vivid portraits of disenfranchised lives — using the stark, direct language of the street — as an accurate reflection of social injustice.
He was like a human middle finger. An X-rated Dennis the Menace for a dial-up modem generation. Writing for Spin inrock critic Alan Light compared Eminem to the Beatles ' John Lennon : "Eminem is even starting to bear a resemblance to one of those rock icons [ Lennon, of course, was able to find ways to use his voice to advocate for peace rather than just blasting away at litigious family members and various pop stars, but still, few other pop musicians since Lennon have found a way to render their private psychodramas into compelling art as effectively as Eminem.
Eminem was that good. I just thought, "Fuck, this man is amazing. He tells stories in such a powerful and distinctive way. As a lyricist, he's one of the best ever. Eminem does for his audience what [Bob] Dylan did for his: He writes how he feels. His anger, vulnerability and humor come out.

A yearly Christmas tradition on the show according to Jimmy is bringing out a large board the Countdown to Christmas Cabinet with 12 numbered doors in the manner of an Advent calendar. The number of the door opened corresponds to the number of days left before the show's holiday break.
Behind each door is a sweater. Jimmy picks a seat number out of a Santa hat, and whomever in the audience has that number wins that day's sweater. Inan abbreviated version of the series "The 5 Days of Christmas Sweaters" aired because Jimmy hosted Saturday Night Live during what normally would be the second week of the segment.
In a manner reminiscent of Oprah on her talk show, Jimmy gives a gift to the entire audience each day during the last week before the show's holiday break. Jimmy plugs in his iPhone to a monitor to show off some new applications he's discovered. One of these apps always deals with a picture of the head of comedian Paul Reiser such as "ReiserTris", a Tetris -like game with Reiser heads instead of the regular Tetris blocks.
On one version, Jimmy used an app designed to locate Reiser, and it displayed "I am 8 feet behind you", then Reiser did a cameo. Another recurring app is " Axl Rose Relaxation Tapes", with the Guns N' Roses frontman actually Jimmy singing over relaxing sounds such as wolves howling or thunderstorms, usually ending with him yelling "Take a nap!
After Jimmy briefly mentions three trivial celebrity news items, he declares that the stories should be placed into the "Who Cares Hindenburg. The newsreel footage has had a news crawl featuring the three news items superimposed over the zeppelin to make it look like a modern blimp. The new narration always ends with the exclamation "Who cares? We listen in on Roots drummer? In "Post-Apocalypse Andy Rooney", Jimmy plays former 60 Minutes commentator Andy Rooney as he gives his thoughts about life in a world after a nuclear war and zombie uprising.
After Rooney's retirement, the sketch became "What is Andy Rooney doing now? Jimmy, claiming to be an expert on facial expressions, explains the meanings behind numerous expressions made by U. President Barack Obama. The expressions are usually explained by a short phrase such as "determined yet hopeful"until the end of the segment, which features pictures from President Obama's February meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper ; at this point the phrases become overly long drivel about s or s youth popular culture often food and sitcomsreminiscing over minute details about the subject.
Somewhat similar to "Obama Expressions", Jimmy shows a series of photos, each showing a man and a woman. Jimmy then explains what the people in the photos are thinking. The first person's thought is somewhat regular e. This is so romantic! This is so humiliating! Similar to "He Said, She Said", photos of people with their pets are shown, with the pets' thoughts being the punchlines.
Jimmy reads off some famous quotes that he found on Facebook, along with some other quotes allegedly by the same person, but of dubious provenance. Lance Armstrong : "I'll spend the rest of my life trying to earn back trust and apologize to people for the rest of my life. Often after a speech by President Obama, Jimmy will give a timeline of events, starting with actual statements from the speech. The bit will eventually introduce Vice President Joe Bidenwho will interrupt Obama in the manner of a spoiled child.
While cleaning his office, Jimmy claims to have found some VHS cassettes from a s production company named Video Vision. The videos are usually short instructional pieces such as "Dealing with Sexual Harassment in the Workplace"or holiday guides with bizarre factual errors such as " Christmas was founded in Downtown Europe ".
They are hosted by Jimmy as James Fallon with a spiked haircut, thick glasses, cheesy sweater and faded jeans, and have many of the hallmarks of video production of the mids, including low video quality, awkward scene transitions, choppy edits, low-quality special effects, and cheesy graphics which include typos and spelling errors. Portions of the video tape may have been "accidentally" taped My Prayer - Various - Forever Hit Pops Selection Vol.3 (CD) with 's sitcoms.
Jimmy finds some old tapes of men from a s video dating service that used to tape in Studio 6-B called "Cupid's Arrow". The videos are low quality possibly because they were produced by Video Vision. The men featured are unattractive losers, and Jimmy stated that most of them were probably still available. The sketch was later made into a Dating Game -style TV show hosted by Tony Sanders played by Higgins with three of the men: Chester Mann played by Salahuddina perverted part-time shoe salesman and freeloader; James Spadge played by Milesa nerd with unusual medical conditions who lives with his mother; and Jose played by Jimmya flamboyant musician who joined the service to prove to his friends he isn't gay; and a female audience member as the contestant, with the video quality downgraded to look like it was from the s.
Jose is always the winner. To get the audience excited about the show's sponsors, a fake gospel preacher named Rev. Daryl Bivens played by Bashir Salahuddin preaches about the products. After Jimmy gives a shout-out to someone, Questlove asks Jimmy if he can give a shout-out to someone as well.
After doing so, other members of the cast and crew usually including Kamal Graywriter Morgan Murphydirector Dave Diomedi always to his wife and about their sex lifeTariq Trotter usually about some sort of craft or cooking project; Trotter wears a blondish-red wig while demonstrating itor a character played by Bashir Salahuddin interrupt and ask for shout-outs to people or things of their own.
At the end, Jimmy quickly recaps each of the shout-outs. Jimmy shows a series of velvet Elvises or "velvet Elvii" as Jimmy claims they are also called showing Presley in contemporary situations, such as listening to an iPodskydiving, or appearing alongside people like Neytiri from the movie AvatarFox News commentator Glenn Beckor the cast of The Big Bang Theory. One of the velvet Elvises will usually include a pull-string activated "voice box" Jimmy pulls the string and holds the painting in front of his mouth so the audience cannot see him providing the voice.
The last painting is often of Elvis in a beige jumpsuit performing a particularly boring activity e. After Jimmy comments on just how boring the activity is, a Boring Elvis impersonator comes out and sings a song about the activity. Jimmy claims to have had a character left out of various movies and video games, such as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
He shows us a series of outtakes of him spouting bad attempts at catchphrases. Jimmy will also sometimes enlist actors promoting new movies to be in outtakes from those movies with him including Jude Law for Sherlock Holmes and Kim Cattrall for Sex and the City 2. After Jimmy passingly mentions the Hubble Space Telescopea man in the audience dressed head to toe in New York Yankees apparel named Milky J Bashir Salahuddin enthusiastically begins listing and showing photos of astronomical features photographed by the telescope, each one punctuated by him yelling "Hubble gotchu!
This sketch's timing may be based on the song "Rock You" by The Roots. He appeared in a recent shout-outs sketch, sending shout-outs to molecular models. Jimmy said he recognized him and Milky J explained that since Hubble is being phased out and replaced by the James Webb Space Telescopehe'd found a new interest. Jimmy then convinced him that Hubble is still something to get excited about, which made him go back into his old shtick.
Later, Jimmy mentioned a new planet, and Milky J showed up and went into his routine, but Jimmy once again mentioned how Hubble is being replaced by the James Webb telescope. Milky J recently appeared in another shoutouts sketch, this time giving a shoutout to gravity: breaking his unfaithful wife's valuables by dropping them and saying "gravity got it".
Jimmy begins telling a story, but a man in the crowd wearing a Hawaiian shirt and a New York Mets bucket hat Mike Dicenzo interrupts, linking the beginning of Jimmy's story to Late Night via an extended word associationafter which he says "how you like me now?
After he does it twice, Jimmy does one as well, causing the man to declare Jimmy the superior player and leave the studio in shame, despite Jimmy's repeated attempts to make him stay. During the sketch that aired March 11,as Bucket Hat guy went to leave, Laina the Overly Attached Girlfriend appeared near the exit, wearing an identical Hawaiian shirt and bucket hat.
Despite Jimmy's attempts to get the two of them together, Bucket Hat Guy retreated from the exit to the safety of Jimmy's guest chair. Following a story in his April 23, monologue about a depressed panda in Chinanamed Seesha, Fallon mentioned that scientists had put a TV in the cage to cheer up the panda.
Fallon then told a couple panda jokes for Seesha, and after each joke, a man in a panda suit would cut in front of the screen and do a short dance. Eventually, he worked his way into the hallway where he kept dancing as the Roots continued to play his song. The panda returned the next night, and Fallon sent out a hashtag called FallonPanda to gather name suggestions. The next night, it was announced the panda's name was "Hashtag.

When the announcer Steve Higgins says a joke that is both very funny and very cheesy, he will "retire" by waiving to the crowd and walking off the stage.
He will then come back, appearing exhausted, then explaining something crazy that happened to him that caused him to come back. On other occasions, Fallon will "retire. Whenever his predecessor Jay Leno is a guest, Jimmy will feign an injury during the monologue in the form of allegedly pulling a muscle and Leno will have to "tag in" and take his spot for a few minutes while he recovers.
In this conceit, Fallon sets up the premise that he had found an angry man ranting on the street and wants to give the man an opportunity to vent and get his complaints off his chest. Leno then comes in and gives his monologue in the form of a rant, finishing by storming off the set in a rage, sometimes knocking down a staffer on his way out the door. One occasion had Jimmy supposedly got a tickle in his throat while telling Hillary Clinton jokes.
Billy Crystal took over for the remainder of the monologues. A segment introduced on the show's first episode, in which Jimmy invites audience members to come on stage and lick objects, such as a lawn mower or a bowling ball, for ten dollars.
Drew Barrymore and Kelly Ripa have played the game as celebrities. Introduced in the show's second week, this segment features a game with loosely defined rules and bizarre scoring whose theme song is an off-key version of " The Final Countdown ". Three audience members are My Prayer - Various - Forever Hit Pops Selection Vol.3 (CD) to spin a wheel containing various carpet samples. The wheel includes a "mystery sample", which is revealed by the announcer to both the audience and the contestants prior to game play.
Each contestant spins the wheel just once and is awarded a seemingly arbitrary point value Jimmy tells the second contestant that the point value the first contestant scored is the maximum number of points a contestant can possibly get, and then asks if the second player thinks he or she can beat it. Each game contains the speed round with a "carpet sample fun fact": a piece of trivia, and the "lightning round" in which the contestant must "name as many things as possible" in three seconds after which Jimmy names a thing that is none of the things the contestant mentionedand a "carpet sample cartoon break", which is followed by a "the making of" featurette, then a "the making of the making of" featurette, then an epilogue of the makers of them.
If a contestant lands on a piece that has already been won, Jimmy turns the wheel back five spaces. A seemingly arbitrary winner, chosen by Higgins who wasn't paying attention because he was arguing with his wife on the phonewins the sample of carpet on which the wheel stopped during their spin.
Jimmy picks three random audience members to come down. They are shown a table covered in various "prizes", including a large-screen plasma TV or a MacBook, or other similarly desirable popular itemtickets to a cleaning products convention, a used trumpet, lingerie, recorded VHS tapes, donuts for the entire audience, a box of rocks, a coffee mug, a year's worth of back issues of Orthopedics magazine, a pipe carved into Jimmy's likeness, a second rave, and other similar kitschy items.
When Jimmy gives the cue, the contestants must snap a picture with their cellphone of whatever item is on the screen. The contestant wins whatever item of which they have taken a picture. One unlucky female contestant's phone was so slow to take a picture that all she photographed was the game's logo after the prizes had stopped flashing. As a consolation prize, she was awarded "donuts for the entire audience".
A frequent prize is "The Call of the Wolf Waker": a man Mike Dicenzo covered head to toe in furs performs a wolf call using his cupped hands; while he is performing the call, footage of sleeping wolves waking up is shown. In a parody of Dance Your Ass OffJimmy invites three audience members on stage and challenges them to put on a neon yellow wool knit cap and yellow rubber gloves and try to get them off only by whipping their body parts around.
Jimmy warns that "smurfing" wearing one's cap loosely and high on the head in the manner of a Smurf is not allowed. Two points are awarded for removing a hat, with one point each for the gloves; ties are broken based on audience applause. Losers receive a T-shirt. Jimmy closes the segment by reciting a rhyming verse, which in some instances of the sketch becomes absurdly long and about an embarrassing health problem Jimmy has such as genital warts.
One version featured quotes from the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. Another featured quotes from recent Celebrity Apprentice bootee Gary Busey. This installment had only two audience members, with Busey himself also competing; Busey was named the winner, but Jimmy revealed that My Prayer - Various - Forever Hit Pops Selection Vol.3 (CD), family, and the actual Gary Busey" were not eligible to receive prizes. The most recent installment featured quotes from the cast of Duck Dynasty.
The winner, determined by audience applause, receives a karaoke machine, and losers receive T-shirts or hoodies. Jimmy invites three guests on stage, and they must attempt to throw the most hot dogs through holes carved in the mouths of large about 6 feet tall celebrity faces. An installment of the game after the House vote on the health care legislation featured Rep. Henry Waxman D-CA ; the Congressman's face had a smaller-than-usual mouth hole but added cutouts for his nostrils.
In the case of a tie, contestants participate in a sudden-death toss-off. The winner receives a hot dog toasterand the losers receive a package of hot dogs. Three audience members play air drums similar to air guitar along to a short drum-heavy instrumental track played by The Roots. The winner is selected by audience applause, who receives a drum kit donated by Yamaha and Zildjian. The two losers receive drumheads autographed by The Roots. Three audience members are each shown three close-up photos of different man boobsand are asked to pick which one belongs to a particular celebrity.
The three photos are given punny names such as " Areola 51 " or " Yo Flabba-Flabba ". Winners receive a man boobs-themed wall calendar, and losers receive a "Man Boobs" T-shirt.
Two pairs of audience members compete. One member of each pair rolls a specially marked die to determine whether they will be spitting or receiving. The spitter takes a sip of water, and then the receiver recites the punch line to a provided joke usually in the form of "[Normal phrase]? I thought you said [similar-sounding sexual phrase]! Audience applause determines the winning team. Sometimes, Jimmy will have the spitter and receiver switch positions if their first spit-take is particularly good or they have extra time.
The winning team receives a pair of hand towels embroidered with the "Competitive Spit-Takes" logo, while the losing team receives a pair of moist towelettes.
Three audience members select styles of dance e. Irish stepdanceballetor disco out of Jimmy's "Velvety Dance Bag", and then attempt to perform that dance style after being hung by a harness ten feet in the air. The winner is selected by audience applause. The winner receives a dancing-themed prize, such as Nintendo Wii and a dancing game or Arthur Murray dancing lessons, while the losers receive T-shirts. Before the show, Jimmy selects members of the audience who are musicians but do not otherwise know each other.
They are split into two "instant bands" and are given about half an hour to come up with a band name, design an album cover, and write a song to perform. Winners are determined by audience applause. Prior to the show, a member of the audience Terry Patterson from the San Francisco area was selected and both bands had to write a song about her.
Similar to Battle of the Instant Bands, Jimmy assembles two dance crews from the audience and has them each choreograph a dance routine in under an hour. Two audience members are given a scene to perform with Jimmy in reverse walking backward, etc.
After they complete the scene, the footage is then shown reversed so that it looks normal. The winner is determined by audience applause, who receives a piece of reversible clothing such as a jacket or a jerseywhile the loser receives a t-shirt with a reversed Late Night logo. Two teams of three male audience members race in a relay to pass a Spanx body-shaping undergarment over their bodies as fast as possible. After taking the garment off of a mannequin, the first person steps into it and then pulls the garment over his head.
The next team member then pulls the garment over his head and off over his feet. The third team member reverses direction once again and pulls the garment on feet-first. After pulling the garment over his head, the third team member then races to deposit the garment in a basket the "Spanx Bank". The other team members may assist in the passing of the garment, but cannot bunch it up or fold it onto itself. Three audience members "try to decipher the garbled-mouth ramblings of Rickie Johnston, a pig farmer with a real anger-management problem," according to Jimmy.
Johnston played by Bobby Tisdale is a stereotypical redneckdressed in a pair of overalls, a trucker's hat, and no shirt, in addition to a huge mouthful of chewing tobacco and an exaggerated Southern accent.
The game has three rounds, worth 10,and points. The winner of the first installment of the game had the choice between a chocolate-covered horseshoe and a "beer-amid" a pyramid made from cement-filled beer cans as a prize and chose the beer-amid.
The second installment of the game had as its prize a package of paper plates. The third installment awarded a watch made from a can of chewing tobacco. The losers receive a bag of frozen tater totswith Jimmy giving Rickie a bag as well they're his favorite.
Three audience members are shown pictures of non-celebrities and each must guess the first and last name of the person shown. The images of non-famous men flashes quickly with one of a famous man second to last usually s sitcom stars. The first two contestants get a single guy to name, but the last contestant plays the "lightning round", where they try to name eight guys in 20 seconds.
The spirit of the game is similar to " Wheel of Carpet Samples ". Due to "lack of budget", the segment uses scene transition graphics from Home Improvement between contestants. Actor Charlie Day played the game's lightning round on the July 11, episode. Jimmy claims this is "the game that everyone is talking about. Jimmy then brings in two male audience members who singularly select alternately a bucket held by each model similar to Deal or No Deal that is filled with an item such as food e.
The losing contestant receives a Late Night bucket hat Jimmy and The Roots then begin a rap interlude about the bucket hat. The initial installment of the game used 16 buckets instead of When only six buckets remain, the game enters the "double trouble" phase, where each contestant selects a bucket to be tipped simultaneously. Contestants also a receive new clean clothing backstage afterwards.
Jimmy had audience members roll a twenty-sided die with a letter on each face likely taken from the game Scattergories and say as many words that start with that letter, with rules such as no proper nouns, no long pauses between words, etc.
While two audience members are blindfolded and wear noise-canceling headphones on stage, Jimmy selects another audience member to come down and photocopy their face; after doing so, that person returns to their seat. Singularly each of two contestants are given the photocopy and the task to run into the audience to find the photocopied person.
While they are searching, the Roots play music whose tempo slows or fastens depending on how "hot" or "cold" the contestant is in their search. Ties are broken by "kicking awesomeness" as voted on by the audience. Five audience members each donate one of their possessions to a communal "jackpot". Each of the five audience members has their name on a tile in a bucket. Jimmy singularly pulls a tile from the bucket to eliminate contestants until only one contestant is left, who wins everything in the jackpot.
The other four contestants receive Late Night T-shirts or sweatshirts. Three audience members are singularly shown a collectible doll for five seconds, and then have thirty seconds to assume the pose of the doll as closely as possible using a box of props and costumes.
Contestants that have yet to play are placed beneath large blue sensory-deprivation "domes of silence". Losers receive doll-sized Late Night T-shirts.
A series of stunts, each with an associated point value, cycles rapid-fire on the "Dartboard of Insanity" the Sharp Three audience members singularly shoot a Nerf dart gun at the Dartboard, stopping the cycle on a particular stunt.
Whichever contestant completes the stunt with the highest point value is declared the winner. Only a few of the "available" games are ever played. Some of the games are highlighted by Jimmy before the game; some are named and also described — these are usually over the top. Still others only ever appear in the rotation. The last game to be played is always "Dude Spoon". Some contestants land on "Dude Spoon," but are given the option to spin again; they then land on "Double Dude Spoon", where they have to spoon with two dudes instead of just one.

There are nightly theme-parties, a giant hot tub lounge where people have a lot of sex note: I did NOT go in there because that is folliculitis waiting to happenmultiple restaurants, and a fabulous pool. The food is ridiculous. There are amazing restaurants at both resorts; cuisine varies from Italian to seafood. We had one of the most incredible bruschetta mix plates of our lives on this trip, along with lobster as the main course.
We drank approximately 76 glasses of champagne that day, then went to a lavish dinner of steak and chocolate. You can have as much food as you want.
